It is with great pleasure that Pelican Foundation announces its second annual “Night at the Movies” Gala to support our local community.  The next Gala once again promises to be a unique and not to be missed event!  The 2017 “Night at the Movies” Gala will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Vintage Court in Covington, LA.

Our format will again include a Silent Auction, Live Auction and “Ariel’s Grotto” from which attendees will purchase tickets to select a thingamabob, or twenty!  However, you will want to refrain from picking the one gadget or gizmo that could make you feel like a “poor unfortunate soul”.

The theme for 2017, Disney’s Heroes and Villains, will take us to a wondrous place of magic and fantasy. Dress as your favorite Hero or Villain, whether you come from “under the sea” or from a “galaxy far, far away”!

Guests will be entertained by Louisiana Spice— a multi-piece, big-band inspired musical group known to bring the groove—while enjoying specialty foods, signature cocktails and mouth-watering desserts.  We promise that your carriages will not turn into pumpkins when the clock strikes midnight!

The Pelican Gala will benefit:

“Our mission is to build a place where children can be children.”  Imagine a Western style railroad town designed for interactive play that includes a Fire Station, Sheriff’s Office, General Store and more!  Pretend play is an integral part of a child’s growth and development.  This type of play fosters problem solving, brain development and teaches children how to interact with others.
