DESCRIPTION:Lauryn Adams Biography\nLauryn Tamia Adams was born on April 23rd\, 2002\, to Lawrence Adams and Tammy Adams. As a native of Baton Rouge\, Louisiana\, she played key pivotal roles in her community\, school\, friends\, and family during her time on earth. \nLauryn attended Central High School and was a Class of 2020 Wildcat. From an early age\, she loved school and was a gifted academic performer – as evidenced by her membership to Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society and the National Beta Club\, as well as a scholar with the National Youth Leadership Forum in the field of engineering. She progressively excelled in her education year after year and remained passionate about continually learning and building on her knowledge. \nWhile at school\, she made friends and became a shoulder that these friends could lean on in times of distress. She regularly tutored and guided her friends through schoolwork because she strongly believed in the benefits of a good education. In addition\, she also became an advocate for mental health and used her compassion to talk out other students from committing suicide. She hoped to inspire her fellow students to find healing and discover their potential. \nAway from school\, Lauryn was an active member of her local community\, committed to touching a life in every endeavor she participated in. She worshipped at Oasis Christian Church in Baton Rouge\, where she was also in the church choir. Moreover\, she selflessly devoted her time and energy to several summer school programs. Most notable was the Read to Achieve program\, where she tutored the younger generation in literature subjects. \nAt 17 years\, on July 2nd\, 2019\, she passed on from an undetected blood clot that had traveled to her lungs. This untimely demise was and continues to be heartbreaking to everyone who knew her.

DESCRIPTION:Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy – Celebrity Waiter\nWhat IS Celebrity Waiter? \nCelebrity Waiter is the primary fundraiser for the Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center.  The event has been held since 2006\, working to raise funds to help provide the services the BRCAC offers to child abuse victims and their families. Some of our first “celebrity waiters” included TV personalities\, LSU sports icons\, politicians\, and other familiar faces from the community. We have since been privileged to have many local celebrities who come to compete for tips and bragging rights while raising money for a great cause! \nSome highlights of the event include: \n\nThe tip competition between the Celebrity Waiters\nA silent auction with 100+ items (including autographed memorabilia\, sports packages\, jewelry)\nA live auction with unique experiences you will want to bid on!\n\nOur mission is to help children and their families on their path of healing by providing trauma-informed\, child-focused services in the aftermath of physical abuse\, sexual abuse or a violent crime.
