Pilot Clubs participate in Brain Awareness Week\, an annual event sponsored by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives\, to increase awareness of advances in brain research and their importance to society. \nIn 2001\, Pilot International launched its signature project\, BrainMinders™. Funded by a gift to Pilot International Foundation from the estate of Callye Neese\, BrainMinders™ is Pilot’s public service campaign signature project aimed at increasing awareness of brain injuries and ways to prevent them. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) have been distributed to radio stations across North America. The first BrainMinder Buddies™ program is designed to teach children ages four to six years old the importance of safety; a safety program for seven- through nine-year-olds was introduced in 2003.  \nPilot volunteers present the programs in schools and day care centers and other venues\, and have reached an estimated 500\,000 children around the world. An educational program about the teen-age brain was introduced in 2006 for Anchor members to present to pre-teens and younger teens.

DESCRIPTION:Gridiron Football is excited to announce that our first five All-American Bowl games were huge successes! The first two were held at Louisiana College after the 2018 and 2019 season. After a year off during covid restrictions\, the 2021 the game was moved due to it’s need for a bigger stadium to Southeastern Louisiana University. The following year (2022) due to crowd demand it was moved to Orange Beach\, AL where additional Bowl game events were added (the 7 for 7 motivational conference). And finally this last year in 2023 the game was held in Baton Rouge at Memorial Stadium with great success. This game continues to grow and now includes talented players from across the country as well as from Canada. \nPlayers from our bowl game have an unprecedented 97.6% success rate for getting college offers after participating in the bowl game. (Some years it has even been 100%) This game is one of only three All-American Bowls to accomplish this. We provide unparalleled media coverage for the players in our game. \nGridiron Football is beginning the process of evaluating players from across the country for the 2025 class and have already started planning this year game. This year’s game will be at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge\, LA on December 30\, 2024. \nWe will offer a Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle\, so please visit our Fundraising Site for more information.

DESCRIPTION:Lauryn Adams Biography\nLauryn Tamia Adams was born on April 23rd\, 2002\, to Lawrence Adams and Tammy Adams. As a native of Baton Rouge\, Louisiana\, she played key pivotal roles in her community\, school\, friends\, and family during her time on earth. \nLauryn attended Central High School and was a Class of 2020 Wildcat. From an early age\, she loved school and was a gifted academic performer – as evidenced by her membership to Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society and the National Beta Club\, as well as a scholar with the National Youth Leadership Forum in the field of engineering. She progressively excelled in her education year after year and remained passionate about continually learning and building on her knowledge. \nWhile at school\, she made friends and became a shoulder that these friends could lean on in times of distress. She regularly tutored and guided her friends through schoolwork because she strongly believed in the benefits of a good education. In addition\, she also became an advocate for mental health and used her compassion to talk out other students from committing suicide. She hoped to inspire her fellow students to find healing and discover their potential. \nAway from school\, Lauryn was an active member of her local community\, committed to touching a life in every endeavor she participated in. She worshipped at Oasis Christian Church in Baton Rouge\, where she was also in the church choir. Moreover\, she selflessly devoted her time and energy to several summer school programs. Most notable was the Read to Achieve program\, where she tutored the younger generation in literature subjects. \nAt 17 years\, on July 2nd\, 2019\, she passed on from an undetected blood clot that had traveled to her lungs. This untimely demise was and continues to be heartbreaking to everyone who knew her.
